New Moon Stargazing

February’s New Moon is the ideal time to experience the breathtaking night sky at Rappahannock County Park, an International Dark-Sky Park. With no moonlight to compete, stars shine brighter, constellations stand out, and deep-space objects come into view.

Why Tonight is Special:

  • The darkest night of the month means the best conditions for stargazing.
  • Look for the Milky Way, Orion’s Belt, and distant galaxies.
  • Bring a blanket, a warm drink, and your curiosity—no equipment needed!

Enjoy the quiet beauty of the cosmos in one of the best night-sky locations on the East Coast.
