Autumn Night Sky Exploration
As autumn transforms Rappahannock County, join us for exceptional night sky viewing with the new moon providing optimal darkness. The earlier sunset (6:29 PM) means you don't have to stay up late to enjoy stellar views of autumn constellations, the Andromeda Galaxy, and other seasonal deep sky objects. Our Silver Tier Dark-Sky Park offers some of the East Coast's best stargazing conditions.
This free observation evening requires registration at least 24 hours in advance. Download our registration form and email it to rappdarkskies@gmail.com. All participants must follow our Dark Sky Park Protocol and stay in designated areas including the gravel parking lot, pavilion, and asphalt pad near the shuffleboard/cornhole facilities. Bring your own viewing equipment and warm clothing as autumn evenings can be chilly. Event is weather dependent; registrants will be notified of any cancellations.
