RLEP Full Moon Event

The Rappahannock County Recreational Facilities Authority, jointly with the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, will be holding its second dark sky event of the year at the Rappahannock County Park pavilion on Saturday evening June 27. This event will begin at 8:40 pm with two short presentations.

Torney Van Acker (RLEP) will lead off with a presentation, “Lunar Eclipse!”, explaining interesting facts about lunar eclipses as seen from the earth and from the moon. The second presentation, “Exploring the Moon with a Telescope,” will be offered by James Granahan (Northern Virginia Astronomy Club).

Following the presentations, all are invited to observe the full moon, the planets and other night sky objects with available telescopes.
